2010 Special Awards
SENIOR DIVISION GRAND CHAMPIONS
Each year, the two grand champions from the York County Science and Engineering Fair go onto compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair. This year, the grand champions will be going to San Jose, California for the International Competition in May.
One of the Grand Champions of the 2010 York County Science and Engineering Fair has a project in the category of Chemistry. The student attends Central York school district and worked on a project titled Controlled Release of Acetylsalicylic Acid From Acrylic Polymer. One of the Grand Champions for the 2010 York County Science and Engineering Fair is Purnima Malik.
The other Grand Champions of the 2010 York County Science and Engineering Fair has a project in the category of Chemistry. The student attends Dallastown school district and worked on a project titled Synthesis and Quantitative Analysis of Metal Polyacrylates.
The other Grand Champion for the 2010 York County Science and Engineering Fair is Nicholas Wilson.
SENIOR DIVISION RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION
The reserve grand champion will attend the International Science and Engineering Fair in San Jose, California if one of the two grand champions cannot attend it.
The Reserve Grand Champion of the 2010 York County Science and Engineering Fair has a project in the category of Engineering – Electrical and Mechanical. This student attends York Country Day and has a project titled Vorticies Down the Drain II: The Effect of Drain Hole Location. The reserve Grand Champion for the 2010 York County Science and Engineering Fair is Luke Brown.
JUNIOR DIVISION GRAND CHAMPION
The Junior Division Grand Champion of the 2010 York County Science and Engineering Fair has a project in the category of Physics. The student attends Dallastown school district and worked on a project titled Predicting Projectiles.
The Junior Division Grand Champion for the 2010 York County Science and Engineering Fair is Lauren Hodge.
JUNIOR DIVISION RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION
The Junior Division Reserve Grand Champion of the 2010 York County Science and Engineering Fair has a project in the category of Engineering – Materials and Bioengineering. The student attends Central York school district and worked on a project titled Iron Ion's Impact on the Growth and Lipid Accumulation of Algae.

EISENHART MEMORIAL AWARD
Christopher Charles Eisenhart Memorial Award is given each year to the student who best displays the excellence of Christopher's achievements. Chris's work for the YCSEF exemplified our philosophy and the purpose for our existence as an organization. The 2010 winner of the Christopher Charles Eisenhart Memorial Award, for a project in the category of microbiology, is Allison Wolfenberger. Chris’ project is titled: Which disinfectant is most effective in eliminating bacteria?
